Helio X20, the latest MTK chipset, is the first 10-core processor in the field and is possible to be released at the end of 2015. The specification is as following:
The latest MTK chipset adopts 20nm technology and choose tri-class big.LITTLE architecture: two 2.3-2.5 GHz Coretex-A72 cores, four 2GHz Cortex-A53 cores and other four 1.4 GHz
Cortex-A53 with 700MHz ARM Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. Compared with traditional dual-class big.LITTLE architecture, tri-class design refines each core’s task further: Cortex-A72 is responsible for super high load operation, Cortex-A53 for dealing with heavy task and Cortex-A53 for reducing whole consumption. In addition, Helio X20 will support
2560*1600 resolution, 25MP camera. Its processor add Native 3D 2.0,
which can help users to get stereo 3D images.
However, the latest MTK chipset only supports dual channel LPDDR3
933MHz and Category6 LTE network. There is no difference between
Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, which is dual channel LPDDR4 1600MHz
and Category 9 LTE network. There is a long way to catch up with
Qualcomm for MTK.
