Recently, more and more Chinese mobile phone manufacturers march into India and Southeast Asia market as their first step to widen international market. However, it is not the real
internationalization until European and American market accept their products.
American market: first, different marketing from Chinese market; second, suffer patents and brands obstacles. It is said that Qualcomm is running on a new department which commits
to help Chinese mobile phone manufacturers sell phones to overseas market to strengthen
relationship with Chinese companies. Checking the overseas map from Chinese mobile
phone manufacturers, it is easy to find that besides, Huawei and TCL in European market
and ZTE in American market, most of the vendors get some development in India and Southeast Asia market. In North America market, more than 90% smart phones are sold by
carriers. However, American carriers have detailed requirements on brand, quality, after
sales, components, production lines and environment, and except Huawei, ZTE, Lennovo,
there are few manufacturers can achieve the requirements above.
Besides the hardware of a factory, software is also critical for the Chinese mobile phone
manufacturers. How to break the bottleneck of patent is the necessary and important
problem to be solved, or the overseas market is only a dream for manufacturers.
