Aluminum Battery Charging Up Only Need One Minute

Bingan Lu, a 29 years old vice professor in Hunan University in China, started a experiment with his team in the chemical department of Standford University. They are improving one 

kind of aluminium battery that does not exist before. The positive pole is Aluminium and 

negative pole graphite. Besides the battery can be bent casually and it is less than one minute to charge up a mobile phone.

In the public video of Stanford University lab, after a phone without power connecting with 

a folding aluminium battery, the battery volume is full soon. The whole process costs less one minute. In the past mobile phone with lithium battery, it needs one hour to be charged up, but now one minute is OK for a aluminium battery. In the near future, the smart phone 

battery can last three or four days after charging one hour. The experiment shows that 

aluminium battery has longer life than lithium battery. Recharge cycle life of Common lithiumbattery is about 300 times, but it is 7500 times for a aluminium battery without capacity 

decreasing.

The American magazine NATURE thinks that it is the first time to realize rechargeable 

aluminium battery, which can be applied into all kinds of electronics device to improve 

people’s lifestyle.
