70% phone shipment in the world are from Shenzhen mobile phone manufacturers, but 

Apple earns the most profit. What does Apple do?

Last Friday，USPTO exposed a patent-trichromatic spectrophotometry camera module by Apple. Apple is only a mobile phone 

manufacturer, not a digital camera or a camcorders manufacturer, but Apple exceeds 

them in research depth and solution, which means its importance on technology. Since 

2013, homogenization has happened in high end smart phones: Qualcomm chipset, 

Sony camera, JDI display. All the phones from different brands is same inside. Almost 

all the Shenzhen mobile phone manufacturers become integrators. But Apple has its own 

iOS and CPU, which bring a high premium. Apple can earn most of the profit because of 

its advance in technology and user experience.

There is no profit without competitive products, which leads to poor profit in Shenzhen 

mobile phone manufacturers. Paying much attention to marketing instead of research can 

bring manufacturers short term market share, but no long term profit. Shenzhen mobile 

phone manufacturers should not catch the trifle but forget essence.
